When it comes to designing a typeface to express a word then there are 2 main ways that typeface can portrait the meaning. Either by the shape of the letter itself or the material suggestion of the letter. This typeface for example could represent the word "Expand" by both these ways, The 3D shape of each letter as well as the material suggestion of building which could also suggest the idea of expansion.

Blob

"Blob" by Superfried is a really nice font that also quite easily could represent the word "expand". The simplicity of the shapes along with the well crafted letters form unique shapes and prove just a generic block colour outline of a letter can still portrait the letters meaning.

This type by Rusian Khasanov is a interesting concept of moving type, the type starts with a hand drawn style slowly expanding to the stage of dissolving .

I really enjoy this book, I enjoy the photography and layout. The page layout and type works really well for the recipe pages allowing an easy read. The paper choice for the book results in a fantastic print quality with interesting colours and images throughout. 

2)  Justice Album Cover

  I love this album by Justice, and I love the cover just as much, it's a great example that album covers don't have to be complicated (far from it infact), even to the stage that the band it represented by an image and doesn't need their name plastered everywhere. The contrast of the black and gold along with the grainy outline of the cross finished off by the almost angelic gold glow is all you need to sum up the music of Justice.

3) Clockwork Orange 

This is one of my favorite designs. I like everything about it, The type face is so unique and interesting as well as visually accurate to the words it represents. i lover the simplicity of the entire design especially all the space and areas of plain pastel block colour.. 

4) Chromeo - Fancy Footwork Album

I think the image of this album cover is fantastic, I really like the idea of the leg stands to represent "Fancy Footwaork", again with the space around the main focus as well as the typeface which is also the logo of the band, fitting in with the "Chrome" aspect.


5) 2012 Olympics logo

I really don't know how this logo represents the London Olympics, it looks like it's trying to be a piece of modern art but with the colours and the unattractive shape and layout I think it is a horrible logo, especially when you compare it to other previous olympic logos;

These logos represent the country the games are being held at, showing their culture and stereotypes but both relating and celebrating their countries identity,
