My knowledge on the production of publications is improving and I am finding it much easier to contemplate how I will produce a book before i am at that stage, and as I have recently worked out that the laser cutter is a really useful and vaulable tool, I am trying to experiment with using laser cut designs in different circumstances, it also means that it will be cheaper as it is a simple cut out rather than a printed cover.
I am happy with the outcome of the publication, and I am very happy with the content, i surprised myself with how much information I could write on this topic and I hope i produced a publication that would interest and inform many a consumer.
In the case of the production and printing, I would have liked to have printed it on a nicer stock but as I failed to book a print slot 2 months ago I therefore struggled getting it printed the quality I desired, HOWEVER I was planning to use a thin cheaper stock anyway as this would suit a booklet in its desired environment more than an expensive thick stock. I am also designing presuming that there would be a number of these printed and distributed around the country so cheap cost in the production stage would be beneficial.
I also wasn't that desperate to use the printers downstairs as they have notoriously always been rubbish hat printing double sided, and in the case of a publication there is not much choice but to print double sided, and they often don't line up. So in this case I wasn't too bothered that I printed at a lower quality because it has fit reasonably well together, so no white bits of paper left around the page.
